SCI – BADGERLAND CHAPTER is YOUR local Chapter for the South West and South Central regions of Wisconsin . Monthly dinner meeting are held in the Madison area and Conventions are held in Wisconsin Dells at the Chula Vista Theme Resort. Both locations are convenient to Interstate highways and meetings are located for the centralized convenience of our membership. You can find the Chapter Calendar in the EVENTS section.

SCI first for hunters

Safari Club International

Safari Club International is the largest pro-active hunting and conservation organization in the world. Founded in 1971, SCI has grown to over 42,000 members in 195 chapters in 37 countries. Many Members travel throughout the world in pursuit of their hunting ambitions, while others focus on hunting locally. Their common bond remains the love of hunting, the protection of our right to hunt, and wildlife conservation.

SCI provides legislative advice, financial aid and hunter education to ensure future hunting opportunities and wildlife resources for our youth. SCI provides funding to conduct research, re-introduce species to their former range and assist in anti-poaching efforts.

While SCI is involved on many fronts to protect hunting and wildlife, it also involved in humanitarian aid projects. For more information on these projects visit SCI.

The Badgerland Chapter started in 1987 with 25 dedicated founding members. Five still serve on the board and the ten new others keep us popping with new ideas. Most of the original founders are still active chapter members. The reason for our success is from them and our great members. At 500 members last spring we are one of SCI’s largest Chapters.

SCI FIRST FOR HUNTERS Badgerland Chapter membership includes the following outstanding benefits: Safari Magazine, this award winning publication is published six times a year and is devoted to worldwide big game hunting. Read about exciting hunting expeditions written by the hunter- for the hunter. The world renowned full-color magazine is designed to entertain and inform members. Members also receive the Safari Times newspaper monthly. This newspaper is jam packed with articles about wildlife conservation, hunting related legislative updates, education reports, global hunting reports and shooting sports information.

Members of Chapters in Wisconsin also receive HUNTERS the magazine to keep all Wisconsin State members informed about their Chapter and what’s going on in Wisconsin . Learn about area chapter conventions, banquets, great fun events, and send in your photos and hunt reports for fellow members too.

The monthly dinner meetings feature interesting and informative programs.

We annually have a sporting clays event, Dining around the World in August, a Christmas Party and of course there is our annual two day Big Game Hunter’s Expo each February.

MISSION STATEMENT

SCI – First for Hunters is the leader in protecting the freedom to hunt and in promoting wildlife conservation worldwide.

Providing value to members by shaping policies and legislation that protect the freedom to hunt locally, nationally and internationally.
Keeping members informed regarding issues that impact hunting while educating and entertaining members with engaging articles about the rich heritage of hunting in all forms of media.
Providing a community for hunters worldwide where camaraderie is enjoyed and expert information is exchanged, and where members are able to participate in a market for quality hunting goods and services.
Promoting a positive image of hunters and portraying them as responsible citizens who fund wildlife conservation, education and other programs which benefit the community.

SCI – First for Hunters is serious about protecting hunting freedoms. In many ways, SCI is first in legislation, litigation and international advocacy for hunting.

SCI has its own lobbyists in Washington DC, in addition to a well-staffed office on Capitol Hill. SCI is a 501(c)(4) organization that has a connected PAC.
SCI regularly attends worldwide meetings, such as CITES, to speak up for hunting.
SCI provides strong support for grassroots chapters who work at the state and local level to preserve hunting freedom.
SCI partners with other organizations as well as federal and state agencies in litigation against anti-hunting initiatives.
SCI is a leader in hunter education and wildlife conservation, preserving wildlife for the next generation of hunters.
